Tara Durkin is a birth and postpartum doula, Antenatal Ireland childbirth educator and IBCLC lactation consultant based in Shantalla, Galway city, beside Galway University Hospital. As a mother of three and devotee of all things birth and breastfeeding, Tara is passionate about expectant and new parents having access to consistent support and evidence-based information they can trust. Above all, Tara is dedicated to helping women and their partners feel calm and confident as they navigate their own unique pregnancy, birth and early parenting journeys.
Tara trained as a doula with Birth Know How Doula Cork and DONA, is a member of the Doula Association of Ireland (DAI) and the dynamic collective West Coast Doulas. She is a certified Cuidiú Antenatal Ireland Educator, accredited by Fedant (Federation of Antenatal Educators). She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and member of the Association of Lactation Consultants of Ireland. She is qualified in Birth Trauma Resolution therapy, is a Baby Bonding Practitioner and volunteers with Cuidiú as an Advanced Breastfeeding Counsellor.
